well last night i felt like i was 13 once again as i saw the almighty PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! They were so good, such an entertaining band. Played the whole first album minus 2 tracks, half the 2nd album, half the new album and video killed the radio star. Definitely a flash back to being in year 8 and 9 again.

taste of chaos the other night was terrible. dont know if it was coz rod laver has the worst sound ever, the fact that most of the bands (minus rise against) are average anyway, or the fact that me and gilly were surrounded by 15 year old girls and boys everywhere. never felt so old in my life. so yeah in a nutshell:
Behind Crimson Eyes: Didnt see em, but no doubt they were terrible
Rise Against: Best band of the night
Story of the Year: Win the award for biggest cocksmokers ever. seriously what the fuck was with those stage antics.
Funeral for a Friend: Extrememly dissapointing
Killswitch Engage: Not bad, but Jesse still kicks Howards ass in the vocals department.
The Used: WORST SHIT EVER! but they got a whole generation of kids fooled so good on them i guess. Watched 3 songs, that was enough.

Soooo i guess alot has been happening as of lately. Im not big on the whole updating LJ thing but thought i might as well.
So first of all my grandmothers funeral was yesterday which i guess was as good as a funeral could be i guess. The service was wonderful (apart from the whole god and religious talking tripe) and was a good celebration of her life. I wish i had known her before she was sick.

My little sister is 18 next week which is fucking scary. Soon she will be driving on the roads, attending all the places i go to, yelling shit at me when she is drunk (will i finally see my little sister drunk? STAY TUNED!!) and so on. So if anyone sees a medium-tall girl who looks basically like me but with long dark hair and boobs, chances are it will be my sister haha.

What else? Well this week i will be saying goodbye to those at Sanity as i've decided to quit there and become a labourer for the time being. Ill be working down with Dad until i hear back from another possible job which could be exactly what ive been hoping for over the last few years. fingers crossed anyway.

Ummmm i guess i should really say something about the attacks on london. Im not gonna go on about how fucked it is and blah blah as it has already been said. I guess to me the weird thing about the attacks on london is the fact that i was only there a couple of months ago and all the places which were bombed i had all been to while travelling on the tube. It all looked so familiar when i saw it all. There were talks of the tube underground being bombed when i was there so it was always gonna be one of the main targets in london i suppose, but thats still not the point. My thoughts go out to those in london at the moment (not just the aussies who are there, as that seems to the main worry in this country whenever there are "terrorist" attacks- "holy fuck hundreds of people have been killed...oh as long as the one aussie is safe and alive who really gives a fuck" BAH)

So on that note, im out.

LIVERPOOL - UEFA CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN 2004/05. GO THE REDS!!

Fuck yeah what a game. Considering AC Milan were 3-0 up at half time, we looked in a bad state. Gerrards goal changed it all around though! Getting up at 4am to watch the game at Gillys was fucking worth the lack of sleep, what a match! LIVERPOOL- YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!!

So this week has been filled with even more exciting news, but I cant give out details due to it not happening til december. All I can say though is im so excited. Suprisingly it wasnt my idea, which makes it so much sweeter that both of us are on the same page!

sooooooo i havent updated this thing for a while. Havent really been on the computer at all though as i am never home :) Just got back from a weekend away in St. Leonards which was fucking cool. Swim this morning was a good wake up call to what was a big one last night.

So i have been offered a full time job at the Werribee store. It sounds fucking perfect yet im still hesitant about accepting it, and i have no idea why. I mean sure my hourly rate wont be as much but yet i wont have to travel 35 mins to get to work each day, ill be second in charge, save heaps of money on fuel, 5 minutes from home, get holidays and sick days and so on. I guess i was kinda hoping to get out of the company but this could be alright. If i take the job it also means i get away my area manager which is the biggest fucking advantage as we dont get along at all.

So the mighty potamus have their first show back after what will be just under 8 months. Local gig as well which should be alot of fun. The band practises have been unreal, i think the break did us all wonders, the new stuff sounds fucking awesome. The new song has some meshuggah influences on my behalf, which i thought would never happen in a potamus song. Congrats to Cori and Pelin as well on getting their house and will not long be Mr and Mrs Camilleri. But yeah, since Potamus was one of the 2 reasons to come back from overseas, its gonna so good to get back on stage again.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so a part of my room, which has been one of the main features in it for so long has finally gone. It was a hard decision but none the less one which had to be done. Therefore, my lifesize cardboard cut out of delta goodrem is gone. Ahhh the memories!

So just got back from saying goodbye to Gavo for a year. Lucky bastard is going to england tommorow. So jealous, i didnt think i would actually miss being overseas so much, but i have been so down about it. Ive decided instead of buying a new car once i pay mum back, im saving to go back. As much as i love being home, the feeling of being overseas is so overwhelming, i need to go back to the UK and see all the lads again. It would be proper smart to go to Amsterdam and Scotland with Gav and Brie as well.

hmm so yeah, im just a bit bummed, i didnt think id miss it this much.
apart from that, life is fucking fantastic :D :D

so last night was the big one, one i had been waiting for ages.
got some rad presents off people, including a mother fucking ipod, thats wicked. But im old and need my sister to show me how to use the damn thing. Back in the day all we had were cassettes!! haha Got so many fucking dvds and shit, some of my presents i cant even remember getting or who i got them off, but its all starting to come back. who the fuck got me the home and away dvd though? haha.

so yeah had an absolute ball. Aarons glass he bought me did the job. 5 beers in a single glass is what its all about. Didnt really stay in the one spot for long enough to have any big talks, but meh its all good! Pantera and False Truth mosh at the end of the night with D-No and Dane ended a fucking brilliant night. Apparently i tried to do a speech after the cake but was an absolute failure. Oh well, wouldve been better than gillys "yeah hes a good bloke" speech. So good to hawe the 2 best dudes in the world, Aaron and Gilly there and in high spirits.

Woke up to find a few people still here, so had some food and watched Bo Selecta! Went down to JB and bought a couple of cds with one of my vouchers.

Work this week has been full on. Been fun though, just gotta get back into working mode after being in holiday, drink lots of beer mode for the last 4 months! Got a text from someone thursday arvo at school speaking a whole lot of shit. As usual, someone heard something and much rather than confronting the person aka me, they decided to believe what they heard from someone else. Guess alot of people do that though, and to be honest the next time someone decides to believe something they hear, rather than ask me, they aint gonna get the time of day.

So to sum things up, i cant remember the last time i was so happy with myself and life at the moment. Alot of people
had the impression i was going to be the same person i was when i left to go overseas 4 months ago, but its not the case. Like it or leave it, im not fussed either way.

been back for 5 days
and it feels like i never left
what sux though is having no car, meaning i have had to stay at home basically the whole time. Cheers for multiple people for picking me up and catching up with me.

went out for dinner last night for my bday with mum, tanya AND dad. Was suprisingly alot better than what i was expecting, although it was a bit sad it couldnt have been like that all the time.

what else? I got a JB voucher from my sister, hell yeah! already spent it of course.
Still doesnt feel like im 21 tho.

Work already tommorow :( Gotta find a way to get out there first!

sooo this week has been proper smart. spent 4 days in manchester and this happened:
+ Monday Night: Saw WCCC (White Circle something something) from belgium, fucking awesome!! Help She Cant Swim who were shite and the motherfucking blood brothers which was one of the best live shows i have ever seen. Spoke to Morgan and the guitarist and told them to hurry up and come to Australia.
+ Tuesday Night: Saw Misery Signals who were fucking insane. Its so obvious most bands back home try and be like and imitate misery signals and other bands similiar, but yet very rarely come close to being as good. Emmanuel were not bad, pretty typical vagrant records band, and 18 Visions who were also pretty cool, did a cover of paradise city by gunners.
+ Wednesday night: Went out into manchester with Ash and Gemma and a few friends. Ash and his mate took me to this place called Love Train which was fucking nuts, this huge ass room with upstairs balconies and shit, looked like something straight out of the 60's, dudes with big afros, flares, everything, retro as fuck! I thought i was in Soul Train! If you go to manchester, go there!
+Thursday night: Saw Ted Maul, worst metal band ever seen, Extol from Norway who were fucking incredible and God Forbid! God Forbid fucking killed it, unbelievably good, except i swear their guitarist is kirk hammett, dead ringer to the guy! Saw a metal guy with a tattoo of Dimebag Darrell on his arm. Respect for sure.

Friday left to go to Newcastle, stopped by in Leeds and Yorkshire, beautiful cities. Went out Friday night with cousin Laura and her friends, newcastle people are wicked. Got a call from Aaron, spoke alot of shit, went to an aussie bar, only aussie beers they had were carlton cold and crown lager, and fosters, told barman fosters aint aussie, just shit. Went and checked out barnard castle, weird walking through ruins that are over 800 years old. i told the guy at the gate i should get in for free coz my last name is barnard but he just laughed at me.

Up to Scotland tommorow for 6 days, cant fucking wait!

- Working from 1-9 and then drinking from then on til close at 2am, and then afterwards til 3:30am. Bundy is so good.
- Hardy the German dude shouting me a tequilla shot only if i ate the worm also. first hesitant, then decided fuck it. Hardy the German tells me not only is the worm full of tequila but also contains masculine. I Laugh.
- Tequilla worm kicks in.
- 4am: Find myself at Hardy the Germans place, playing Gran Turismo 4 with some crazy steering whell and pedal system, eating crazy german chocolate, drinking single barrel jack daniels worth like a shitload of money, getting absinth poured down my throat, absinth being really bad but good, shooting guns at empty cigarette packets inside the house, listening to kruder and dorfmeister.

I think more nu-metal-core, hardcore, scenecore, whatever the fuck you wanna call it these days need to stop claiming scene points for liking iron maiden when half the time they sound nothing like them and have no influences by them. Instead they should try and incorporate influences and ideas from bands such as Dream Theatre HAHAHA! I'd like to see them try anyway. 42 minute songs and all!

sooooooooooo had my first shift at The Outback pub tonight which went pretty damn well. Especially considering i have never done bar work in my life i managed to do alright. Most people picked up i was an aussie and pulled out the typical aussie jokes i had heard before. considering it is an aussie styled pub, or supposed to be anyway, im the only aussie who works there. got a few tips which was awesome.

hmm what else is there to report? spoke to mum the other day, she was suprised when i told her i am coming home for my 21st. Not only do i wanna celebrate my 21st and see all the mates again, im dying to get the band back together as i miss my kit more than anything right now. went out and bought some drumsticks the other day, in fear that i would get to rusty by the time i got back. tanya bought a webcam the other day, and she put milo up so i could see him, oh how i miss him!

been speaking to some old friends again who i havent spoken to in a long long time, its good to have them back on board. had some chats about shit which has been confusing the fuck out of me, still is, who knows whats going on.

tommorow night looks like ill be going out with danny, randall, peter and maybe ben depending on if he is gonna be in another one of his moods haha. should be a good time anyway, all good lads up for a proper laugh and good time. the isle of man is shaping up to be alright, had my doubts the last couple of days, but all in all its alright. sunday im off to see cousin vicki again and my irish pal.

So some good things have happened in the last couple of days
+ Went in to work yesterday for training and to get used to being behind the bar. Have my first shift on friday night, probably the busiest night out of them all so hopefully i will be alright as i have never worked in a bar before haha!
+ Me and Ben booked our flights to Amsterdam. Heading there between the 11-13 of March....oh yeah!
+ Went and chilled out at Dannys today. top lad!!

Ever since getting to the isle of man, time has gone so quickly and it feels like before i know it i will be home again and i will be 21, so i gotta start to organise what i wanna do before i go home.

so it was dads bday yesterday..even with all the shit that has happened the period of time..still would've been nice to have been there for him. happy birthday!

P.S Why do the dave matthews band have to be in australia when i aint :( :(

so where do i start?

been over in the UK now for the past 6 weeks, and loving it! Heres a quick run down of whats been going on:
Spent my first week here up in a tiny village called Edwinstowe just out of nottingham. Literally a 2 minute walk from Sherwood Forest aka Robin Hood forest, was fucking awesome chilling out there with my main man gilly and getting on the pints each night. 2nd night in was a messy one, as me, gilly and the lads went out on the booze, and after mixing everything and anything, was in the bed the next day throwing up 13 times (yes i counted), including twice in sherwood forest, shittest day ever. plus i was jetlagged.

spent the next month in london, sharing a tiny little place with gilly. was fucking awesome chilling every night, as i hadnt seen him for a good 8-9 months. was fun getting on the turps every night and getting 1-2 J's in each night before his gf got there. some memorable days/nights in london include:
- Going to a dodgy club called cheekeys, where you pay £25 to get into the club and its all you can drink all night!!
- Nights in the van, with me, gilly and daz drinking and smoking way too much, that we couldnt even make it to the beds due to lack of sight.
- Australia Day was the best!! After even forgeting it was australia day, ventured into whitehall and westminster to see the big ben and shit. went to find the pub that kate's sister works at, and managed to find it right near trafalgar square. didnt think she was in, until a guy came up to me asking if my name was james. turns out she was there. me, nicole, and all her aussie mates did a pub crawl around the west end and trafalgar square and got mashed! was good to be celebrating australia day with a group of aussies over here and ready for a good time! Went to the walkabout aussie pub which was absolute packed! had my first coopers green since coming here so that made it all the better!
On the topic of aussie beer, i still cant get over how big fosters and XXXX is over here! EH, someone has to drink it i suppose!
-last night in london, for gillys farewell was great 2

Went to Glasgow and Greenock in Scotland for 4 days with gilly, his gf and gillys brother darren. Scotland has been the best place ive been to so far, not only is the scenery and surroundings beautiful, but the women are aboslutely stunning. Stayed with gillys aunty and uncle who were rad and said i could stay with them when i come up again, which will be before i go home. went to the famous drovers in near Loch Lomond for lunch for a few pints and their world famous haggis. turns out haggis aint too bad, as long as you dont think about whats in it!! Also went to a club called Word Up which despite the shit name was quite good. We all stayed at Darrens gf's sister house which was quite nice, due to the fact that her fiance' is one of the biggest players in the scottish premiere leagure, and bought it for her, as he earns like £65,000 a week!! Had a drink with him, and turns out to be a really good bloke! had a big night at word up, with lots of drinks and one of gilly's £3.50 suprises! Didnt wanna leave scotland, but hopefully i can get back up there again.

Been on the Isle of Man ever since, which is so tiny yet unreal. My cousins flat is right along the boardwalk near the ocean and the scenery is amazing. went out to a party last night with ben and all his mates who are absolute champs and made sure i wasnt left out all night. stumbled in at 1 in the morning and had some chats which i dont even remember. woke up at 9am and still felt fucked, so i figured i better go back to bed for a bit more.

got some work here within 2 days of being here, working behind the bar at the Outback, the aussie styled pub over here, which is quite appropriate!

so time is starting to go quick and it doesnt feel long until i am home again. still unsure when i will be back but i reckon by the start of april. Really looking forward to getting back on the kit and jamming with potamus again as i miss that more than anything, but at the same time im enjoying being on the other side of the world! its helped me being here by myself already, cleared my head out on a lot of issues and problems i had with not only other people but also with myself. the one thing i aint looking forward to is not coming home to 2 of my closest loved ones, even though one was out of my reach, and the other due to my stupidity and taking things for granted.

JB Hi Fi in Wezza opened today, and it is so fucking good, had so much good shit there for dirt cheap, had to settle with getting 5, instead of the 11 i had in my hand. I got:

haha the good clean fun discography was the best pick up of the day. These guys were such a fun band to listen to, i rememeber when they came out, was such an enjoyable show. haha feels like ages ago, still rapt we got to play with them.

Anyway not much else to report, EXCEPT i booked my flight for the UK and I leave on the 27th of December, so thats a bit exciting. Cant fucking wait!
